Ekiti Grassroots Movement has blasted former governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose, for what it described as recalcicrant attitude the moment APC candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu, was declared winner of the just concluded Presidential election.

Fayose had featured on Arise TV and AIT within 48hrs to comment on the presidential election result and other issues within his former party, PDP.

Reacting on behalf of the group, Adebisi Adeola, who is its coordinator, noted that Fayose should declare his intention to join All Progressive Congress since the APC candidate, Tinubu, who he was covertly working for, has been declared winner.

“Rather than snooping from one national TV to another to comment like a tout, Fayose should just come out clear to the whole world. He should summon courage and give account of how he demystified PDP under his leadership in Ekiti before he was suspended and later expelled.

“One would wonder why a former governor would be jumping from one national TV from another to spew incoherently if not to impress the APC candidate, Asiwaju,” Adeola noted.

While calling on APC to be wary of the former governor’s antics and recent unguided utterances against the PDP, Adeola said “Fayose was looking for opportunity to launch himself back politically after his suspension in the PDP.”

“Where is Fayose’s conscience when his partner in crime, Governor Nyesom Wike, frustrated Former governor Peter Obi out from PDP? Why the sudden love for Peter Obi from Fayose? Why didn’t he and his G5 not support Peter Obi or Kwankwaso before the election? Election has come and gone. Winner has been announced any candidate who feels he is not satisfied with the conduct of the election, he should challenge the process in a competent court of jurisdiction.

“No amount of distraction will make Fayose control PDP structure in Ekiti anymore. We can’t go back to the era of political merchandise under Fayose,” Adeola added.

While concluding that the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, ran an issue-based campaigns, which was devoid of insults and assassination of character, he warned Fayose and his sponsors to spare the party their anecdotes, adding that “after all, they once told Nigerians that APC was cancerous.”
