In celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which coinsided with ongoing Ramadan fast, the Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Abiodun Oni, on Sunday hosted Christian and Muslim faithfuls, including the Chief Imam of Igbeti land, Alhaji Akeem Abubakar alongside some religious leaders and party member to an Iftar meal (breaking of Ramadan fast) and also some Christian faithful for Easter feats at his country home, Igbeti, Olorunsogo Local Government.
Special prayers were offered, during the get-together for the country, community and Governor ‘Seyi Makinde for the successful take-off of his second term administration.
While addressing the enlarged gathering that attended the Easter celebration alongside the Iftar, Oni who is popularly known as Okunrin Jeje stated that, in line with the spirit of the season, the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, he considered it necessary to extend love to Muslim brothers and sisters with the aim of fostering religious harmony in Igbetiland.
He expressed appreciation to the Muslim community and the Christian Faithful for thier steadfastness and prayers which have immense on the peace, unity and continue progress of the community and State.
The Igbeti Muslim community leader, the christian faithful and others who attended the Easter and Iftar feats were full of appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner for the reception and pledged their support for the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde under Omituntun 2.0.
