The late Chief passed away on Sunday shortly after being brought from Oyo to a private health facility in Ibadan. Abeo highlighted the deceased’s significant contributions, noting that he was among the first graduates from ancient Oyo town and credited with single-handedly building the renowned Ladigbolu Grammar School, Oyo.

She expressed sorrow at the loss of an administrator, culture enthusiast, and prominent chief in the council of the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo, stating that his passing creates a substantial void.

“Baba’s demise marks the departure of a distinguished community leader and educator, leaving indelible marks as a custodian of cultural heritage and traditions. His life’s work has been transformative, especially in preserving our cultural heritage at a time when many were abandoning it for foreign cultures.”

Abeo continued, “He was an inspiring father figure, and he will be deeply missed for the pivotal role he played as a High Chief of the Oyo empire. Baba Otun, sun re o,” she prayed.
