A middle-aged man, Adeniyi Adeoye, has scampered for safety as a result of threat from a cult group to kill his wife, two children and parents.
While narrating his ordeal to this online newspaper, Adeniyi Adeoye, who was working as a junior sous chef in ile ife, Osun State but mistakenly took a life of a Head Chef while trying to save his (Adeoye) life, stated that the manslaughter led to the threat.
Adeoye said: “My name is Adeniyi Adeoye, a junior sous chef at Sam D hotel ile ife. I have been working there since 2017 but in 2020, the hotel employed a new Head Chef and, since the new Head Chef came on board, he has always given me one problem or the other, which I reported to the Manager. But, to my surprise, the Manager never did nothing about the situation.
“There was a regular family customer that used to come to the hotel and they always want me to make their meals. So, on this fateful day, November 2022 precisely, I was on leave and the regular family customer had a birthday party, in which they requested for me.
“The manager called on me to come and attend to them and I responded. After the whole party, the family gave me some stipend. I tipped my manager but he returned it, saying the money is for me because I was on leave and still managed to come and attend to customer.
“I went inside the changing room to change my cloth but, unfortunately, I saw my Head Chef behind me and he asked for the stipend that was given to me and I explained to him that Manager said everything was for me and not meant to be shared. I didn’t know he had knife in his hand when he approached me. So, he pushed me angrily to the wall. I pushed him back but, mistakenly, the knife in his hand stabbed him on his neck and the hotel management rushed him down to the hospital but he died in the process.
“As a result of the incident, I ran home to meet my wife and explained things to her. We went to the Head of Community and inform him about it but he took no action on it because the head chef was a member of a cult group called Black Axe. So, I needed to run for my dear life.
“However, few days after, the cultists rushed to my house and arrested my wife for some days. While torturing her in their custody, they hit her head. But after they discovered she was pregnant, they released her and went to my parents house, threatened to kill my mother and my two children as well.”
