The wife of Oyo state governor Engineer Tamunominini Makinde has charged parents and guardians to ensure they are good role model to their children and must instill in them virtues inorder to become adults the state would be proud of.
She gave the charge while celebrating Christmas party with children of the state at Agodi Garden, Agodi Secretariat Ibadan.
Mrs makinde said that parents and guardians need to understand that children are special gift from God to the parents and they need to be taking care of.

She noted that “Like i said, is just to say thank you for coming, for the parent and the guardians once again I want you to ensure that you become a good role model for our children and instill in them virtues while they are still young so that they would become adults that the state will be proud of.
Mrs makinde further admonished women in the state to improve themselves and educate their female children to become arrow head for the state when they are with their colleagues outside the the state.

She advised that “women improve yourself, don’t be afraid improve our girls in the house so that they would become arrow head for the state when they go out.

“You know I have also traveled both in the air, inside the plane and on land, Oyo state children will approach me, some of them are older than me, speakiy good British English and I find out that they are children of Oyo state, Ogbomosho, Iseyin and Oyo.

“We have quality in Oyo state, whenever we sing our Oyo state anthem, ‘Asiwaju Ni Wa’ is a pride be a Pace-Setter.

Mrs makinde extended her gratitude to the state government for giving her the opportunity to bring out the state children to have fun and celebrate Christmas.
She added that “I will to use this opportunity to appreciate Oyo state government for making it possible for my office to bring out children to have fun and celebrate their Christmas, she said.

During the celebration, children were espoused to various games and were giving gifts by father Christmas.

Dignitaries at the event are: wife of the deputy governor, Chief Mrs Ajibola Lawal,
Secretary to the state government, Mrs Olubanwo Adeosun, Commissioner for special duties Alhaja Faosat Joke Sanni and some other dignitaries.
