Consequent upon the decision of the Senate of the University of Ibadan, at a Special Meeting held on Monday 17 October, 2022 that academic activities should resume in the University effective Monday, 24 October, 2022 for the continuation of the 2021/2022 academic session and that Halls of Residence would be opened from Sunday, 23 October, 2022, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale FAS, mni, inspected some halls of residence in the campus.
He was accompanied by the Dean of Students, Professor I. A. Abiona, on the inspection tour of the Halls.
The inspection team went round the Halls to identify those things that needed to be put in place to make the Halls habitable and comfortable after being locked up in the last seven months.
It would be recalled that the students were directed to vacate the Halls on 17 March, 2022 following an extension of the national strike action embarked upon by ASUU.
Meanwhile, on behalf of Council and Senate of the University, the Registrar, Mrs Olubunmi O. Faluyi, had earlier wished the students journey mercies as they return to the campus.
