The University of Ibadan, Ibadan, is planning to increase school fees for the returning students and fresh students of the institution, NewsBreakNaija has learnt.
There is also plan for increment in accommodation and studio/practical fees as a result of the dwindling subvention from the Federal Government, and the rising cost of running the university, due to inflation.
According to a source who hinted this medium about the development, the Management of the institution already debriefed the representatives of students leaders and other stakeholders about the development during a meeting last Friday.
The approximate value of the proposed amount for accommodation and other fees for the fresh and returning students were, however, not disclosed.
The management team was led by the Vice- Chancellor of the institution, Prof Kayode Adebowale, and other principal officers at the meeting include the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, The Registrar, the University Librarian, and the Dean of Students.
Recall that the wave of school fees increment, lately, has been spreading across institutions of learning in Nigeria.
