With a deep sense of honor and truth, I want to register my tribute to an exceptional leader and astute visioneer, a man who has dedicated his life to driving change and radiating impact.
Engr. (Dr.) David Olusegun Okanlawon, the founder of the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF). He has positioned himself as an emblem of hope for countless individuals and families, particularly, in the Ibarapa region of Oyo State. He has got an incredible passion for the development of the young ones , who are the future of our dear country.
Envisioned with a deep passion to raise his people from the various communities through diverse empowerments, enviable and massive infrastructural transformations, which he has consistently been doing for years. Nothing could have been more nobler and fulfilling.
What strikes me most about Engineer Okanlawon is his unique blend of humility and impacts. Of course, many of his activities are often and usually laced with optics, rather than the real work, some persons prioritise personal success which overshadows communal responsibility, but he chose to be different, standing tall as a rare product of humility, selflessness and dedication.
Through the foundation, he has offered scholarships to less privileged students, supported small (and struggling) businesses, constructed boreholes in underserved communities, and influenced sports activities as a tool to engage and strengthen the young people. It is unarguably so that these initiatives have touched countless lives, but his genuineness and personal involvement have made all the difference.
Undoubtedly, I have found Engr. Okanlawon’s dedication noteworthy, particularly, in the Ibarapa region of Oyo State. He has relentlessly advocated for the development of the region, addressed long-standing infrastructural challenges and continuously working to build a society where no one is left behind. I found his leadership style very inspiring, motivating, and one that creates a ripple effect of fundamental change in an egalitarian society. Whether through his professional or philanthropic endeavours, he embodies the spirit of kindness and compassion, he treats every interaction warmly, and any opportunity as a chance to make a difference.
I celebrate Engr. Okanlawon today and every other day of his golden life, his achievements across the board remind everyone of the profound impact we can make as individuals to the world. His selflessness commitment to humanity is a pointer to what it means to live a life of purpose. I’m grateful for his presence in our world, the privilege of knowing him and for the inspiration he provides to generations. As he continues to make a difference, I offer my heartfelt appreciation for his tireless efforts and my best wishes for many more years of growth, impact and transformation.
