The lawmaker representing Ibadan Southwest/Northwest federal constituency, Hon. Stanley Olajide Odidi Omo, has felicitated with the people of Ogbomoso over the final selection of their new King, Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye.
The Oyo state government had, on Friday, following long-drawn processes, specified under the law approved and announced the appointment of Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye as the new Soun-elect of Ogbomosoland.
Odidi Omo, while congratulating the Ogbomoso sons and daughters ahead of Prince Ghandi’s era commended the Oyo state government for going through due process in selecting a befitting Soun Ogbomoso expressed optimism that the reign of the Soun-elect will give peace and development to the ancient town.
“It is my pleasure to rejoice with the people of Ogbomoso on the final selection of a new King for them, as well as congratulate the new Soun-elect, Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye on his selection to the throne of his forebears.
” The long waiting has resulted in blessings for Ogbomoso’s sons and daughters, it is not just a King, Ogbomoso got a befitting traditional ruler, a King that has wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to navigate his position for the greatness of his people.
” I believed that Prince Ghandi would bring to bear his vast experience to further development of Ogbomoso land as well as facilitate harmony, understanding, and tolerance amongst his people.
” All of those who know Prince Ghandi, including myself are convinced that he will discharge his responsibilities with the great wisdom and integrity that his great ancestors have all displayed.
Odidi Omo also acknowledged the non-interference and transparency of the Oyo state government led by Governor Seyi Makinde during the selection process, and said, the due process followed will pave the way for Ogbomosoland’s greatness.
