Oyo East LG Chair, Arosad, Flags Off Street-Naming Project To Identify Locations, Immortalise Notable Personalities

The Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Prince Saheed Arowosaye has begun a street naming project in the council.

Speaking in Oyo town, on Thursday, where he unveiled the first set of names, Arowosaye said the streets naming in exercise of powers of the Council as enshrined in Section 7 and the 4th schedule of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, Local Government Act CAP 12, LFN 2004 will make it easy for identification of locations.

He added that it will also be used to immortalize notable community members that have contributed to the development of their communities and local government in different ways.

The Chairman called on residents to submit names of deserving members of their communities who have contributed to its development to the council through a formal application process.

He explained that on receipt of the applications, the council will verify the information supplied by the applicants.
