The Camp of the All Progressives Congress APC in Oyo state is not settled over what some stakeholders perceived as unfavourable body language of the president elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu towards the party gubernatorial candidate.
Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin of the APC will be slugging it out with the incumbent governor Seyi Makinde of PDP, ex CBN Deputy Governor Chief Adebayo Adelabu of Accord and others on 11th of March for the governorship seat.
At the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly Election APC wins 3 Senators and 8 House of Reps Seat, though some are contestable as issues bothering electoral manipulation were raised in many units.
An Inside source told our correspondent that the leaders of the APC in the state are not happy with what they called double standard and unfavourable disposition from Tinubu’s end to the party candidates, “we have three senators and reps but that may not translate to victory for us during the gubernatorial election, Tinubu need to support us, and talk to people.”
The source who don’t want his name in print said “we are quite aware that the president elect’s body language is not in favour of party candidates and some of the core Tinubu’s loyalist are not on the same page with Senator Folarin, some are pretending to be but deep down them they are either working for Seyi Makinde or Bayo Adelabu.
Tinubu had during the campaign tour of the state visited Governor Makinde and descried him as a diligent person who has worked brilliantly in the state, He said ” I want to be the president of a united, unified Nigeria, thus political division and separation must be removed from the picture, It’ s not easy to bring an opposing entourage under your shade, but you did, therefore I truly want to thank you for your warm welcome. Despite our political differences, you have shown yourself to be an excellent leader who is persistent, industrious, and polite in all aspects of your conduct. “
Although the APC Presidential Campaign Council said no agreement whatsoever between the president elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde but some of the party stalwart said Seyi Makinde ‘s decision helped APC in the last election and same may not repeat itself in the coming election.
Another party stalwart said , the logistics for the election is yet to get to Ibadan and of it eventually does may not be given directly to the guber candidate and his team.
Recalled that Tinubu had in June advised Teslim Folarin, to bring back aggrieved members of the party if he wants to win the election and till now he has not been able to emplace a genuine reconciliation as some of the party members who left the APC because of the internal crisis have moved to either in Accord or PDP.
Also Chief Adebayo Adelabu of Accord while featuring on a radio program said he is more closer to Tinubu than any other candidates and that February 25th results is not for APC but fot Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Yoruba race.
