At all material times, particularly in the Ekiti State Chapter, the Peoples Democratic Party stood as a bastion of hope for all lovers of democratic tents; firmly entrenching the core values and principles of our founding fathers.
The party in Ekiti State has been a force to reckon with on issues of local and national importance. We were shining model worthy of emulation across all divides.
We pride in our intellectual approach to issues and hold fort where many failed.
The party was building men and women of courage, capacity, loyalty, and people who exuded the ideals of being a thoroughbred party men and women. In the face of challenges, we courageously stood strong together while matching our paths to victory, Comradeship was hinged on collective trust laced in purpose and vision to deliver the dividend of democracy to the good people of Ekiti and Nigeria.
Oh, I miss those good days! Today, I am bold enough to say, we can make it much better.
I am thrilled to announce my interest to vie/contest for the position of Chairmanship of our great party; Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State.
My fellow party men, women and stakeholders of our great party, it is with great honor and enthusiasm that I humbly step forward to serve you in this capacity.
It is pertinent that we must begin to believe in the dreams of the future better than the histories of the past.
Top of my priorities if given the opportunity and mandate of becoming the PDP State Chairman in Ekiti are:
- To ensure discipline at all levels; aiming at party re-organization in all standards. This can be achieved through strict adherence to the grundnorm of the party which are inherent in its Constitution to ensure democratic tenets are followed at all times.
- As a political party which is ideological and interest-driven, my desire is to rejig the party with open door policies and restructuring the party to a party that will win all elections; focusing on how to return the party to its rightful places-government house (Oke Ayaba) in 2026 against all odds.
- Interests, yearnings and aspirations of party members will be addressed; Get involved in all reasonable agenda that will further promote the PDP for enviable outcome before, during and after elections.
- Together with the leaders of the party to ensure effective membership participation in party activities at all levels.
- Unity of purpose is inevitable to bring PDP back to its feet in our state. Looking at the state of the party after the loss in 2018 and 2022 respectively, we shall consult with aggrieved party members and leaders to achieve maximally in our responsibilities.
- Power will be returned to the grassroots by encouraging time to time Ward meetings and interfacing with the leadership of the party going forward.
Throughout my life, I have been deeply committed to uncompromising societal values that ensures growth in all sepheres. As a technocrat in politics, I am equipped with relevant experiences, values, and accomplishments that has prepared me for the big task ahead. These experiences have shaped my understanding of the issues and challenges facing our party (State and National) which further fueled my passion for making a speedy and positive difference.
May I respectfully use this medium to call on people of like minds and stakeholders to unite with me in shared commitment to democratic tenets in rebuilding PDP, more particularly in its Ekiti State Chapter for a brighter future, most importantly, devolving powers to the people at the grassroots and critical stakeholders.
Apart from being an unrepentant member of the party since 1998, I have served in several positions in the party in the time past as Party Agent, Collation Agent, Returning Officer, Member of Screening Committee and now two-term State Legal Adviser of the party with dedication, integrity, and a vision for positive change.
I am still dedicated and ready to serve the interests of our party men and women, using the experiences thus far gathered in connection with the leaders of our great party to make it seamlessly work again.
I believe in those key principles and I am dedicated to working tirelessly to achieve them.
My vision and pledge is to rebuild the party to a place where every loyal party men and women will have the opportunity to thrive and contribute to the common good; winning elections through organized party structures.
But I cannot do this alone, hence, together, we can build a brighter future via our beloved party—one that is inclusive, equitable, and prosperous for all.
I humbly ask for your support, your trust, and undying commitment to this cause.
As one, let’s create a better Ekiti PDP for ourselves and future generations.
