Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka, has congratulated the newly sworn-in governor of Osun State, Ademola describing his emergence as a mandate stolen by enemies about four years ago.
Eleka, in a statement personally signed, noted that despite the fact that the emergence of Adeleke as governor of the state tarried, his consistent outreach to the good people of Osun made it possible again in the last election.
Eleka urged Adeleke to set the pace for good governance, form a unity government that transcends PDP to have robust and meaningful contributions from the masses, which according to him, would assist the governor.
While noting that the victory of Adeleke is a solace for the PDP, he added that the entire PDP family in Nigeria, most especially in the Southwest, “is proud of your victory at the poll which was a true reflection of the will of God.”
The statement read in part: “I congratulate our dear brother, His Excellency Senator Ademola Adeleke, Osun State Executive Governor on his swearing-in today. This was a mandate the enemies stole about four years ago. Though it tarried, your consistent outreach to the good people of Osun made it possible.
“Nigerians are expecting much from you to set the pace for good governance and it is my hope Your Excellency will form a unity government that transcends PDP to have robust and meaningful contributions from the masses which will help your government to be a reference point of contact for other states.
“Youths must be given a major priority in your government. Having worked closely with some of them, I hold a strong conviction that their creativity and exposure would add tremendous value to your Government.
“The entire PDP family in Nigeria, most especially in the Southwest is proud of your victory at the poll which was a true reflection of the will of God. We enjoin you to join hands with other PDP governors to provide quintessential leadership in Southwest and restructure it to regain its deserved position in the party.
“Your victory is a solace for us in PDP, which we hope will bring stakeholders and relevant leaders of the party together to discuss the way forward to rescuing Nigeria with the Atiku/Okowa mandate in 2023. “
