The SA on Islamic Affairs to the Governor of Oyo State, Sheikh Al Imam Abdulrasheed Abdulazeez, has joined ther Islamic faithfuls in the state to attend the 8th Day fidau prayers organised for the late Chief Imam of the State’s Secretariat, Alhaji Imam Mustapha Amoo.
Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Kamorudeen Aderibigbe, who led the delegation to the event held at Oke-Aare Palace, Ibadan, commiserated with the family, Muslim Ummah of the state secretariat, and Muslim Community at large over the loss.
Imam Abdrasheed who spoke briefly to journalists at the event, encouraged the family and Muslim faithfuls in attendance to be strong, saying that the deceased ran a good race of faith and did well for humanity in his life time.
He described the departed Islamic cleric as a peacemaker who allowed peace to reign in the Muslim community and he would be sorely missed.
Sheikh Abdrasheed said: “Today, we are here at the Fidau Prayers for the deceased who was father to so many of us. So, I want to condole with the family and the Muslims in the state.
“Though, it is sad we lost him but let us all believe that Almighty Allah knows the best. He gives and takes at his own will, and nobody can question him.
“We need to also remember that, Baba, while alive as a leader and father to so many of us, contributed so much to the growth of Islam with the transformation agenda he brought into the Secretariat mosque and he will be sorely missed.”
He, however, prayed that Allah will accept the soul of the deceased and grant him Aljannah firdaus.
Others who attended the event include Chairman of Oyo State Civil service Commission Alhaji Biodun Aderibigbe, Alhaji Kunle sanni Special Assistant on Administration to the Deputy Governor and a host of others.
