The Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor on Digital Media, Mr Fisayo Daramola, has congratulated Chief Benedict Akika and his wife on the occasion of their conferment as the Mayegun and Yeye Mayegun of Akoboland.
The duo were conferred with the prestigious title of Mayegun & Yeye Mayegun of Akobo-land by Baale Alhaji AbdulRafiu Amoo a.k.a Agboworin of Akobo Ojurin, Oyo State, in commemoration of his 2nd year anniversary.
In a statement personally signed on Sunday and made available to journalists in Ibadan, Mr Daramola, explained that they deserve the prestigious title due to their philanthrophic deeds in the Lagelu local government area.
The Governor’s Aide equally commended the title holders, who have been major facilitator of some infrastructural projects to the area, and for efforts being made at assisting the underprivileged.
The statement read in part: “Today, I want to congratulate Chief Benedict Akika and his wife on this prestigious title. Indeed, it is well-deserving considering their contribution to the society, the local government area and the state at large.
“I make bold to say that this title is well-deserving for the husband and wife. Chief Benedict Akika is well known pillar of support in his council, which is Lagelu local government area.
“He has also been a major facilitator of infrastructural development to the Council area and a lot of people have benefitted from him through different donations and empowerment.”
