The major aspirant for the position of State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Ekiti State has reiterated his commitment to winning the 2026 election for the PDP, adding that present Ekiti State Governor did not have the required track record to appeal for a second term in office.
Barrister Sunday Olowolafe, who made this known while speaking with party stakeholders in Ado Ekiti, said there was no substantial development in Ekiti to commensurate the huge funds the State had gotten from the federal government in the last two years.
“As I speak with you, we don’t know what Ekiti generates as IGR, suffice to say that the governor has not been transparent in his dealings with the people. I challenge Governor Oyebanji to invite the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to commission projects like his colleagues in Enugu and other states”
“We have competent aspirants in the PDP whose credentials are not in doubt. My interest is to reconcile various interests and allow healthy competition that will produce our flag bearer who will oust the current APC government because Ekiti people cannot afford another 4 years of deceit, underdevelopment, and impoverishment.
Speaking on the forthcoming congresses, Olowolafe said he is vying for the Ekiti State Chairmanship position of PDP to salvage the party from going into extinction. It gives me pain when people say PDP is dead in Ekiti.
While I acknowledge that we are passing through a challenging period, our chances of winning elections are radiant if we prioritize unity of purpose above personal interest.
By the special grace of God, 2026 is a must to win for PDP with the help of God and the unwavering support of party leaders across the Units, Ward, local government in Ekiti State state, sure, our great party will emerge victoriously in the next governorship election.
