The Ido Local Government Area Chairman in Oyo State, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo has been awarded and recognized as the best-performing LGA chairman in the State by the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ido Chapter.
The award presentation was in recognition of Adeojo’s absolute and unwavering support shown to the Christian body and the people of the Council.
Receiving the award, on Friday, Adeojo said he will continue to leverage the policies of the state government to attract development to the grassroots and Church of God.
Further, he explained that so much has been achieved considering the infrastructural developments, and essential security needed at the grassroots, and donated the sum of N500,000 towards the church project.
“Upon my assumption in office, Peace, security, economic growth, human capacity development rural infrastructure, and others have continued to enjoy positive turnaround.
“We will continue to ensure that the policy thrust of the state government is upheld at the third tier,” he said.
Meanwhile, Aladeselu Henry Gemini Femi, the CAN Chairman of Ido LG, while presenting the award to the council chairman, stated that the local government administration was closest to the people, hence the need for monitoring to ensure effective policy implementation.
The CAN head explained aside from being a Christian body, it is the responsibility of the body to always at all times put our leaders to check on a major yardstick to identify, criticize, and encourage them whenever required.
The CAN representative, however, enjoined other council administrators to remain open to constructive criticism.
“Today, we are here, to honor our own for his immense performance since assumption as the council chairman.
“We believe that this recognition would spur him to do more as he proceeds to deliver on every electioneering promise made,” he said.
