Oyo state governor, ‘Seyi Makinde’, on Tuesday, vowed that his administration will make the newly upgraded Emmanuel Alayande University of Education become the number one designation to obtain a degree in Education in Nigeria.
The governor, who stated this in Ibadan, during the inauguration of the Implementation and Secretariat Committees of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, added that the two committees will lay a strong foundation for smooth and effective take-off of the new institution.
Makinde tasked the committees to create the policies and processes by which the institution will be run, noting that the best legacy to leave behind for future generations is education.
The governor, while responding to critics on how the institution would be adequately funded, he stated that the same capacity demonstrated in actualising the sole ownership of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH for Oyo State will be deployed to ensure its smooth running.
Adding, Makinde noted that he will ensure there are no lapses in the running of the institution if those criticising the need for another institution in the state vote for Omituntun 2.0 in the next general elections.
