Hardship: Like Agboworin, Rep. Oseni Confirms FG’s Constituency Palliative •Says ‘Tinubu Approved Money For Lawmakers To Take Care Of The People’

Members of the National Assembly from Oyo State, especially those in the House of Representatives are under fire as one of them, Engr. Remi Oseni has revealed that President Bola Tinubu approved money for all of them to cushion the effect of hardship occasioned by the policies of the federal government.

Oseni, who represents Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency, had while fielding questions from journalists on how he has lived up to the expectations of his people, said he was not using his own personal money alone but that he and his other colleagues got support from the Bola Tinubu-led administration to put smiles on the faces of the people.

In the 2-minute video, Oseni who chairs the reps committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, challenged said the fund he has been using came from the federal government, adding that “let me say this for the whole world to hear. Let anyone who has given me any dime apart from the money the President (Bola Tinubu) gave us, come out and say it. I challenge the person to come out publicly and tell the people.

“President gave us money to go back to our constituencies and take care of our people. It is not a private thing now. It was done through the ministry of Agric that we should take (items); go back and take care of our people,” he said.

“It is their problem,” Oseni said when asked further by journalists why some federal lawmakers are yet to distribute anything to their constituents.

The revelation by Oseni, who recently donated equipment worth several millions of naira to his constituency, has continued to generate reactions and counter-reactions.

While some of Oseni’s colleagues refused to make comments, the people have said that it isn’t just good to lay the blame of hardship on the footsteps on the president, adding that most of rhetorical representatives are not sensitive to the plight of their people.

They said that henceforth the federal government and other agencies should make anything they are giving the reps and others public so as not to shortchange the people they are meant to assist.

Recall member representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency and the Chairman of House Committee On Narcotic Drugs, Rep. Abass A. Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, during last yuletide, displayed similar gesture, having distributed bags of rice and cash to his constituents from the money approved by the Federal government for the lawmakers.
