The former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON, has vehemently denied the circulating rumour of the demise of former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd).
In a statement delivered through his Chief Press Secretary, Orusi Kenneth, on Monday, October 9th, 2023, Gbagi dismissed the alleged passing of General Gowon as a fabrication by mischievous individuals.
Gbagi clarified that General Gowon is very much alive, in good health, and currently in London.
In his own words, Gbagi quoted the esteemed leader, “General Gowon is still among us, in robust health. He has no intention of departing anytime soon.”
Gbagi, the former Minister of State for Education, urged Nigerians to disregard the unfounded rumors concerning Gowon’s well-being.
He assured, “I, Gbagi, have personally spoken with him. I categorically reject the rumours about the death of my friend, General Gowon. He has assured Nigerians of his continued presence, and I can confirm that he is indeed alive.”
