The executive chairman of Ido local government Hon Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo has applauded the Lion’s Club International for their selfless service aimed at bringing succour to the people of Nigeria.
The chairman made the commendation while playing host to the Lion’s Club International at the Local Government Secretariat for the free eye test and distribution of eye medication with glasses to the people of the local government area.
The chairman who was represented at the occasion by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Abdulazeez Yahaya commended the Lion’s Club International for its various programs targeted at bringing reprieve to Nigerians at large.
He appealed to the beneficiaries of the program to use the medication as prescribed because of the sensitivity of the eyes which can be said to be the essence of human being.
In his address, the District Governor of the Lion’s Club, Otunba Olayiwola congratulated the people of Ibadan being the second term in the region to host the Lion’s Club
He however warned the beneficiaries that the glasses given to them them are not transferable and were not meant for sale because they were given based on the results of the test carried out.
Present at the occasion were the newly elected leader of the Ido legislative house, Hon. Adebowale Adedeji, the House majority leader, Hon. Jamiu Tijani, Chief Whip, Hon Abdullah Kehinde and Hon Wasiu Oladokun.
The career officers present were, Director of Administration and General services Lion Wole Oyelade, Director of Finance and Supplies Alhaji Onipede Daud, Director of Education and Social services, Deaconess Grace Adejuwon and Director of Agriculture and Natural Resources Mr. Adeleke Kazeem
