Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party’s Committee on Media Public Engagement, Ekiti State chapter, Mr Tosin Ajayi, has reiterated his support for the expulsion of former governor Ayodele Fayose from the party.
He added that apart from his unguided outburst at the party on the National Television again, his recent adoption of governor Oyebanji for 8 years is a comic less taken too far.
In a statement signed by Mr Tosin Ajayi, he called on the National Working Committee under the leadership of Ag. Amb Damagum and other relevant organs of the party to listen to the yernings of party member and put an end to Mr Fayose’s charade, trade-by barter and anti-party deals by pronouncing his sack from the party with immediate effect
“Mr Fayose has bite more than he can chew. What other evidence does the party needs to take action against his consistent vituperations against the party? After working against the presidential candidate of our great party in the last general election, he was seen boastfully supporting Sanwo Olu; the APC governorship candidate in Lagos. As if that is not enough, Fayose allegedly withdrew all PDP State Assembly candidates for APC as part of his negotiation with Ekiti State Governor.
“The unfortunate one was his recent endorsement of Governor Oyebanji who has performed poorly in his responsibility for 8 years. This is a clear indication that Fayose has left the party; what we need from the party’s leadership is to make it official.
“Having examined his exuberance over the past few months, it is not lost on us as a group to throw our support behind we’ll meaning stakeholders to unite the party to take its rightful position in Ekiti and beyond,” Ajayi stated.
Speaking on the leadership of the party under the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Architect Sodiq Obanoyen, he said genuine reconciliation was a top priority; calling for more support and prayers, Tosin said party members must remain committed and work in tandem for unity of purpose
“We have had our good, bad and ugly in the last few years in the party; what is important is to unite to dislodge the current APC, which has inflicted unprecedented pains and impoverished Ekiti people.”
