Elections Are Over, We’ll Support Tinubu For Good Governance – Makinde

Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, on Friday, promised to support the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in dispensing good governance to the people of Nigeria.

He made the submission while addressing journalists after meeting with Tinubu at the Defence House in Abuja.

“I came here to basically pay homage to the President-elect and to let him know that elections are over and this is governance.

“We will do our best to give him support for good governance,” Makinde said.

Also speaking, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, who urged Nigerians to rally round the President-elect, noted that elections were over, hence the need to support Tinubu in ensuring good governance.

Wike was accompanied by his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde.

According to Wike: “Elections have come and gone, and the winners have emerged, therefore, it’s necessary for all Nigerians to rally round and give Tinubu the necessary support.

“Everybody is waiting for May 29 when Tinubu will be sworn-in and I’m confident he has what it takes to turn Nigeria around.”

Wike and Makinde were part of the G-5 integrity group of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that worked against the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Both governors supported Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the last presidential election.
