Ekiti Grassroots Movement, EGM, has counseled members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the South Senatorial district of Ekiti not to allow an intruder to thwart their opportunity to produce a senator in the coming election.
The group also noted that that party members will benefit tremendously than having opposition in power.
In a statement by its former Director of Public of the group, Adebisi Adeola, the group pointed out that Senator Olujimi and other elective positions in the South must be given a major priority to raise the bar of the party in the state.
“As far as today is concerned, the only face of the party in Ekiti is Senator Olujimi. We can’t afford to jeopardize this ticket because of Fayose’s antics to strip the party naked for his subjective interest.
“Apart from the robust and quintessential legislative magnate Senator Olujimi represents, she has continued to represent the state and the senatorial district in a good manner.
“We can attest to her incentives to secondary school pupils, employment opportunities, health facilities, road construction, and infrastructure for her constituents.
“It is better to have her return and add more elective positions for the benefit of the south, Ekiti, and Nigeria,” Adebisi said
Appreciating leaders in the senatorial district for coming together to champion a common course, Adebisi charged them to reach out to the grassroots to consolidate the membership drive.
“The recent teamwork in the South can only yield positive if there is a unity purpose.
“With the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti and PDP governorship candidate of the party, Prof. Eleka and other prominent leaders leading the campaign team in the south, victory is inevitable,” He noted.
Concluding, he, therefore, admonished leaders to eschew bickering and personal aggrandizement, with a view to winning the 2023 general election and subsequent ones.
