The PDP National Solidarity Forum has called for cohesion and unity among leaders and members of PDP members in Ekiti State.
The statement reads:
Dear Honourable Leaders and Members of Ekiti PDP,
On behalf of The PDP National Solidarity Forum, a prominent support group of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) comprising of over fifty (50) members drawn from across the sub nationals in the country as a unified and dedicated entity, committed to upholding the ideals, values, principles and objectives of our party, the PDP, and known for her meaningful contributions towards the party’s growth and success across the country, respectfully submit this formal appeal to the leaders and members of our party in Ekiti State, urging them to adopt and ratify the zoning arrangement proposed by the State Working Committee, as empowered by our party’s constitution. This arrangement ensures equity, fairness, and peaceful coexistence among our members as well as creating an orderly and rancour- free forthcoming congresses.
Our leaders should prioritize the party’s general interest first, as well as seeking for progress, peace, and unity of the party in the state over their personal or group’s interests. They should sheath their swords, bury their differences and work together for the betterment of our party and the good of our people. Destructive criticism of fellow members and leaders of the party must be avoided, and instead, we should engage in constructive dialogue and collaborative work towards our shared goals.
We express sincere gratitude to all leaders and followers of our great party in Ekiti State for their dedication, steadfastness, uprightness, loyalty and support for the party in the state. The success of our party in this state is paramount,- and harmony and cooperation are essential.
After having carefully followed and holistically reviewed the process that led to the decision of the State Working Committee as regards zoning of the state party’s officers among the three senatorial districts, we recommend that the aggrieved leaders and members of the party should adopt and ratify the zoning arrangement proposed by the State Working Committee which we believe is in the best interest for the party, embracing peace and unity, engaging in constructive dialogue, and working towards successful congresses. We appreciate the efforts of the State Working Committee in proposing this arrangement and commend their dedication to our party’s growth, even at a time like this when the party is plaqued with numerous challenges, mostly arising from different interests from our respected leaders and esteemed members coupled with impunity, indiscipline and flagrant disobedience to the party’s constitution which must be overcome in order to place the party in her winning position in subsequent state and national elections.
Thank you for your attention. We look forward to a successful and productive forthcoming ward, local government, and state congresses which we believe will usher in and mark a new era for the party in the state. Together, let us build a stronger, more united and prosperous Ekiti PDP, poised for victory in the 2026 and subsequent state and national elections.
