A PDP House of Assembly candidate representing Ikere 11 Constituency in Ekiti state, Simi Olusola, on Monday, donated a sum of N50,000, as part of her contribution to the ongoing efforts at repairing the transformer in Ajolagun community.
Our correspondents learnt that before now, the community members had organised themselves and contributing funds to fix the problem with the transformer, a development which encouraged her to support them.
Speaking on what prompted her action, Simi, who said the community is in Atiba/Aafin ward where she hailed from, in Ikere Ekiti, added that She was not going to let such opportunity to help her people pass her by.
After visiting the community with some leaders in Ikere, she met with their representatives to hand over the fund to support them.
Simi equally used the opportunity to intimate them about her intention to represent the people of Ikere Constituency II at the Ekiti State House of Assembly.
In her words: “I believe electricity is a basic need that no Nigerian should lack. So, when I heard about the challenge, which the transformer is giving them in the community, and how they had rallied together to contribute the money to fix it, I knew I had to support their efforts with my little contribution.”
The leaders of the community, who received the support, thanked Simi for her donation and prayed for her success in the upcoming election in the state.
