ASUU MAU Yola Chapter Honors Professors For Dedication, Service

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Modibbo Adama University (MAU) Yola Chapter, has recognized four distinguished professors for their unwavering dedication and contributions to the union’s progress.

The event, themed “2024/2025 Heroes Day Celebration”, witnessed the presence of senior university stakeholders and union members who gathered to honor the awardees.

The professors celebrated were Prof. D. T. Gungula, Professor of Crop Physiology, Prof. K. A. Abubakar, Professor of Fishery and Hydrobiology, Professor Mrs. Anna M. Malgwi, Professor of Agricultural Entomology and Professor Ahmed Bawa Bello, Professor of Accounting.

In his address, Dr. El Maunde Jibril, the Chairperson of ASUU MAU Yola Chapter, highlighted the recipients’ exceptional comradeship and sacrifices in advancing the union’s goals.

He emphasized ASUU’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating the contributions of its members.

The Vice-Chancellor of MAU Yola, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, applauded the awardees and the union, urging ASUU to prioritize the welfare of its members.

He suggested that focusing on internal welfare might yield better results than prolonged disputes with the government.

Hero’s day is been celebrated yearly by the Academic Staff Union of Universities Modibbo Adama University Chapter.
