As unknown forces keep hunting for him,
Ajibade Wazew, an Ibadan based human rights lawyer who is well known for advocating and protecting the human rights of deprived individuals, civil liberties, as well as speaking for gay rights, has been off the radar for several months.
Ajibade was reported to have gone into hiding to protect his life from being killed.
The victimization and threat on his life started shortly after he fought for the family of one Agboola Favour, who died mysteriously at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, Oyo State around April this year
Some unknown forces are after his life and that of his family. His house was destroyed and vandalized. He became a target of humiliation as a result of his stand against injustices.
A quick check in his Ibadan office showed that he has not been coming to the office for some months. The office remains locked as of when one of our reporters visited the place.
A source who doesn’t want his name to be mentioned told us, he has been moving from one place to the other with his wife and the children. The confraternity group that is after his life is hell-bent to take his life. A lot of threat messages have been sent to him. He has visited police formations so many occasions, but no help was rendered. This is sad.
