The people of Felele/Olorunsogo, in the Ibadan Southeast local government area of Oyo state, have urged the state governor, Seyi Makinde to carry out the rehabilitation of Felele Idi -Odo To Express Junction Road.
The residents made the appeal through the community development association, ” Felele /Olorunsogo Central Development Association (FOCEDA)” in a released statement, signed by the chairman Eng B. O Famade and secretary Apostle Omoyemi Akinsanya .
In their statement, the people of Felele/Olorunsogo praised and expressed their admiration and satisfaction with Governor Seyi Makinde, for the delivery of his campaign promises, and said, the governor is determined to reform the state.
Thereafter, FOCEDA appealed to Governor Makinde to consider adding Felele Idi-Odo To Express Junction Road to the government-listed roads for rehabilitation.
According to FOCEDA, the community association said, Felele Idi Odo-To Express Junction Road has been in a deplorable condition for years and explained that total rehabilitation will ease the hardship currently being experienced by motorists and other road users, especially during the rainy season.
FOCEDA said the governor’s intervention would put an end to the age-long suffering of residents in the area.
The residents, through the association, stated that Felele Olorunsogo and its environment have been home to several important personalities such as former governor, deputy governors, and ministers, including residents of Ibadan Obas.
Part of the Felele/Olorunsogo Central Development Association’s message to the governor reads, ‘ As we continue to acknowledge and appraise your excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde on your unrelenting effort on the developmental project in the state, our people, the residents of Felele Olorunsogo area of Ibadan Southeast local government assure you, our continuous prayer and support for the complete success of your administration.
“Moreso, we are appealing you to extend your infrastructural development olive oil to us at Felele /Olorunsogo community.
“We want you to help us to also list Felele To Express Junction Road For Rehabilitation this year. The road is totally bad and not good for users.
“Felele/Olorunsogo is a large community and home to several important personalities and their families, such as the late governor of Oyo state, Lam Adesina, former Oyo state governor, Omololu Olunloyo, the state former deputy governors, Iyiola Oladokun and Amb. Taofik Oladejo Arapaja who is also People’s Democratic Party Deputy National Chairman, as well as House of Reps. Member, Hon. Adigun Abass Agboworin and Ibadan South East local government chairman Pastor Emmanuel Alawode.
“We also have former Minister of Trade Chief Mrs Onikepo Akande with several state commissioners and present Ibadan Obas, such as Oba Adebayo Akande.
“Your Excellency sir, we will consider this great opportunity as one of the dividends of democracy to all the FOCEDA community and an exceptional benefit of Omituntun 2.0 if our request on the said major road is considered for rehabilitation,” Felele /Olorunsogo community resident said.
