The executive chairman of Ibadan Northeast local government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, on Monday afternoon, arrived to rousing welcome at political ward 3 and 6 of his council area during his re-election campaign tour.
Akintayo, who is seeking re-election with his vice chairman, Mrs. Mary Olubunmi Osomior, were welcomed to the campaign grounds at Ward 3 and 6 amidst fanfare, organized by the party leaders and members singing his praises.
The chairmanship candidate and his vice were hosted in Ward 6 by party stakeholders and leaders at Saagun Junction, Oje, while the Ward 3 PDP leaders and stakeholders received Akintayo and Osomior at Ojaagbo Junction, Ojaagbo, Ibadan.
Councillorship candidates for Ward 3, Azeez Kabir Olalekan, and Abdul-Majeed Adekola Igbalajobi for Ward 6 were also present at their ward’s campaign venue to receive Akintayo and Osomior.
Akintayo, who later led his party leaders and members to door-to-door campaign within wards 3 and 6, sensitized the people on why they should place their fingerprints for the PDP candidates during the April 27 election.
He informed them that only the PDP administration is capable of delivering the expected dividend of democracy to the people at the grassroots.
