A prominent Islamic Group, Tijaniyyah Islamic Organization, Ido Chapter, on Tuesday, endorsed the candidature of Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo as the Executive Chairman of the Ido local government for the second term.
The Islamic group, who came to the local government secretariat in their numbers, unanimously endorsed the return of Hon. Sheriff Adeojo as the executive chairman the local government.
The spokesperson of the group, Sheik Abdulahi Abdrasaq, in his remark, said that the first term of Hon. Sheriff Adeojo has witnessed tremendous development in the annals of Ido Local government, which necessitated the continuation of his good works.
Sheik Abdrasaq said the administrative prowess of Hon. Sheriff Adeojo has proven him as a bonafide son of the Seriki Adeen of Oyo state, Alhaji Yekeen Ayoade Adeojo who single-handed brought PDP to the South West.
In his response, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo appreciated the Tijaniyyah group for the show of love and prayers offered to him and Ido local government at large.
He then promised to build on his first-term achievements and bring more developmental projects to Ido in his second term.
“Firstly, I want to appreciate you my father for this visit and endorsement of your son. I am not taking this show of support for granted.
“By the grace of Almighty Allah, I believe with the opportunity you are giving to me for second term in office, I would not disappoint you. I will not also let the people of Ido local government down.
“Having said that, I want to assure you that more developmental projects will be seen in the Council in my second term in office. So, I really appreciate you for giving me the opportunity to serve you again.”
Present at the endorsement program were the PDP party Chairman in Ido local government, Alhaji Ayuba Akinsola; leader of the party, Nureni Adeoye; Alhaji Bashir Adesiyan, and other political functionaries in the local government.
