A commercial bank marketer, identified as Amarachu Ugochukwu, on Wednesday, took her own life at her workplace in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
This was confirmed by the state police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Thursday morning.
It was learned that Amarachu died while she locked herself in the bank’s toilet and ingested pesticide.
Announcing Amarachu’s death on X (formerly Twitter), a user, Just Society, shared a handwritten note reportedly written by the deceased, explaining that her decision was because of the hardship she faced in life.
The note reads: “NOTHING IS WORKING IN MY LIFE. MY FIGURES ARE COLD. MY BRAIN IS CLOGGED UP. THE ECONOMY IS GETTING HARDER. MY DECISIONS ARE WRONG. MY MIND IS MESSED UP.
“THE FUTURE DOESN’T SEEM BRIGHT AT ALL, I SEE EXTREME HARDSHIP. I CAN’T BEAR THE PAIN ANYMORE.
“I’M SORRY MUM, I’M SORRY DAD, I’M SORRY MEME, OKWE, NAZOR, CHUCHU, IFUNANYA.”
