The Executive Chairman of Ido local government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, has been applauded for living up to his promise on road maintenance thereby delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
The words of commendation was given by a resident of Ajiboro in ward 1 of the local government, Mr. Akeem Bale Ajiboro, during the grading exercise executed in some locations within the Council area.
Equally, a leader in another community, Mr. Nure Fabode Onikanga, also appreciated the duo of the councillor representing the area, Hon. Jelili Akanji and the Chairman for the grading exercise, which has covered some areas in Ward 1 including Ajiboro, Mobolese, Elere-Akile, and Onifufu.
According to him, the people who elected public office holders want continuity and accountability in the political system.
“They should not seize the opportunity to amass wealth but should leave a good legacy behind for citizens to gain the dividends of democracy. And this is what I believe Hon. Adeojo is doing here in Ido,” he said.
Few others, when interviewed on the development, jointly expressed that the Chairman has been fulfilling his campaign promises, thereby complementing the efforts of the state government.
“We are appreciative of the fact that we have a local government chairman that is responsive to the yearnings of his people. The residents should rally round him for continuity of good governance and continued development in the local government.
“If they have any grievance, they should pass it across to the appropriate quarters rather than causing mayhem in their communities,” they jointly said.8
