In Oke-Ogun, Iyaloja Of Oyo State, Princess Abeo, Honored With ‘Yeyeoge Of Okakaland’ Chieftancy Title

Iyaloja General of Oyo State, Princess Abeo Nurudeen, has been bestowed with chieftaincy title, ‘Yeyeoge of Okakaland’, in recognition of her noticeable and impactful contribution towards market traders in Oyo State.

Princess Abeo was honored, on Saturday, after attending a stakeholders summit on Education, Health and Security, where she was a guest, which held at Okaka Baptist School, Okaka Town, in Oke-Ogun Zone of the state.

She was not only treated specially on her arrival at the event, she was also received warmly by the residents of the area with much adulation.

The letter of honour was presented to Princess Abeo by a respected traditional ruler in the zone, the Olokaka of Okakaland, HRM. Abdul-Azeez Ayoola Olatunji (Ogelende IV).

The letter acknowledging Princess Abeo as a traditional title holder was given in the presence of Hon. Dele Adeola, Member, Oyo House of Assembly, representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju Constituency; Okaka Chiefs; Okaka Development Foundation group; Okaka NURTW members; all Oke Ogun Market Leaders and various other stakeholders committed to the welfare and progress of the community.

Speaking on why Princess Abeo was selected for the chieftaincy title, HRM. Abdul-Azeez Ayoola Olatunji (Ogelende IV), who is the Olokaka of Okakaland, said it is in recognition of the her immense contribution to the lives of market traders in the state in the area of empowerment.

He further expressed that Princess Abeo deserved the title because of her visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to repositioning market system and structure in all parts of the state.

“I can say categorically that the Iyaloja of Oyo State has earned himself a place in the heart of market traders with the ongoing empowerment programme. No doubt, you have made a lot of sacrifices and commitments towards uplifting the wellbeing of your people. May God continue to help you,” he said.

Evidently excited about the new title, Princess Abeo expressed joy, saying that she was particularly happy to be honored in Oke-Ogun part of the State.

In her words: “Indeed, I am always happy anytime I am coming to the Oke-Ogun Zone of the state. This is because my mother hailed from Ilero-Okeho and that was where I started my primary education at the Ansarudeen Primary School in Ilero, though I later left Ilero for Saki.

“I am also from a Royal Home of Daodu in Saki town.

“With pleasure, I appreciate this great honor bestowed on me by Kabiesi Olokaka of Okakaland. It is an honor I won’t take for granted, even as I wish to continue to remain committed to the development of my people and market generally in Oyo State.”
