The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, on Thursday, awarded a cash prize to Master Adeleke Suliamon Adeshola, who scored the highest mark at the recent Oyo State Technical University post-UTME.
Four other students were also presented admission letters into the Oyo State Technical University.
The council boss made the cheque presentation and admission letters to Adeleke Suliamon Adeshola and the four students at the council secretariat.
Hon. Sherrif Adeojo, while speaking on the development, said the council’s gesture was to appreciate Adeleke for his academic feat and also use his remarkable achievement to inspire other students to aim at such academic attainment.
He charged other students to emulate Adeleke’s dedication and commitment to his studies, which has made him an excellent and celebrated student from the local government.
Speaking with newsmen, Adeleke, who said that the achievement meant the world to him, thanked the Council Chairman for the monetary gesture.
Adeleke said he has been encouraged to go further in his academic pursuit and also promised to continue to make Ido local government and Oyo state proud.
“I am deeply grateful and honored to have been granted the cash gift in recognition of my academic excellence. This achievement means the world to me, and I want to express my sincere appreciation for my honorable
chairman, my family, and God, for their unwavering support throughout my educational journey”, he said.
Present at the presentation were: Dr. Mrs. Agness Ojo; Head of Local Government Administration Ido Lg, Hon. Bamidele Lawal aka Hon. Bambam the local government Secretary, Alhaji Bashir Adesiyan
and other political functionaries in the Council.
