The unanimously chosen consensus chairmanship candidate for Oyo East Local Government in the 2024 Local Government election in Oyo State, Alhaji (Hon.) Saheed Adeyemi Arowosaiye (AROSAD), has appealed to his teeming supporters, well – wishers and party faithfuls to remain calm, focused, prayerful and concentrate on the forthcoming victory, and not to join issues with opponents.
He stated this in a statement released on Tuesday and made available to select journalists in Ibadan, adding that his performance as the Chairman of the Council and recent endorsement as consensus candidate ahead of the 2024 LG Poll have spoken enough for him.
According to the statement: “I want to seize this opportunity, and use this medium to appeal to all my supporters, followers and progress – minded people to remain calm and not engage anybody or group in any type of war (verbal or physical). As you are aware, our performances and consensus victory have already spoken for us.
“We have received the overwhelming support of the whole party’s structure (PDP) and the aspirants, who stepped down for us as a result of the trust and confidence they reposed in us. They are all solidly behind us. What else than to thank God?
The statement further noted: “We believe in the judgement of our role model, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, on the consensus arrangement and also in the majority of people of Oyo East Local Government who are praying fervently for us.
“As we all know, there is no way minority can prevail over the majority. After all, majority always have their way. More so, our Governor is a man of justice, equity, fairness and transparency, and that is what he represents. So, that is exactly what we believe in.
“As a result, our supporters should, please, desist from media war/attack and concentrate on our forthcoming eventual victory. I still believe in them as they are core supporters and by the grace of God, we will get all what we desire.”
