A section of the popular Wetland Hotel in Ughelli, Delta State, owned by Wetland Microfinance Bank was gutted by fire on Tuesday.
According to report, the fire was said to have started from the generator section in the said hotel.
Sources said that a staffer was seen pouring diesel into the generator plant, which resulted in its bursting into flames.
Eyewitnesses said the inferno destroyed the security and generator rooms, adding that fire fighting personnel on ground worked hard to prevent the fire from wrecking more damage.
