The Senators-elect, Kebbi South Senatorial District, Kebbi State, Alhaji Garba Musa Maidoki, has reiterated that his fundamental mandate in the 10th Senate is to raise the bar of political representation and initiate sustainable development programme to ameliorate the well-being of the people.
Maidoki in a Statement made available to the newsmen in Abuja on Thursday said one of the cardinal objectives behind his desire to serve in this capacity is to bring representation back to the people, demonstrate leadership capacity that will surpass our previous experience, as well as address the under representation and set a prospect for the good of the Constituents.
He said going into politics now for him is a heed to the clarion call of his people adding that, “my foray into politics is borne-out of the need to raise the bar of service to humanity; to give an exemplary leadership service to my people.
“Kebbi South deserve quality representation, Federal presence is needed to bring the best out of the people. This is a Senatorial District with reputable Nigerians and our human capital resources must be put into adequate use.
“I am determined to give quality representation, I will hold frequent Town Hall meetings with my constituents to know their needs and challenges as at when due, this will help me to initiate bills and motions relevant to their political gains and advancement.
“My grassroots background would be an added advantage as a lawmaker because, I have always from day one present myself to the services. I am closer to the people and understand their challenges.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP lawmaker, stressed that he would be a servant-leader’ different from what is currently obtained practice where elected legislators are docile and stay away from their constituency.
Maidoki added: “My tenure as your legislator will usher in an unprecedented change in the narrative of the way of doing things and the kind of results you have been getting. I will run an inclusive people based style of representation as a servant leader. I will not concur or support any bill without getting your input as critical stakeholders.
“Again, in the past it has been lopsided skills acquisition programmes but mine will be a sustainable youths and women development programmes and I will jealously protect the mandate given to me.” He pledged.
Maidoki further greeted the Constituents for the grace to witness a new month of June which he said will signify the beginning of a new era and turn around in the political atmosphere in the Senatorial District, Kebbi State and Nigeria in general.
