Hoteliers Association of Nigeria, which is the body of hotel owners in Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter, has a change in leadership baton on Thursday May 25, 2023 during the Association’s monthly meeting.
Following the expiration of the tenure of the State Executive Council of the Ekiti State Chapter of Hoteliers Association of Nigeria, under the leadership of Chief Samuel Olakorode, members unanimously elected an Ado Ekiti High Chief, who is also the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of K&D hotel in Ado Ekiti, Chief M.A. Osaloni as the new State President.
Pastor (Hon) Akin Abimbola was elected as the State Secretary, Elder (Prince) Femi Ala as the State Vice President, Mr Tom Okigbo and Comrade Mrs. Oladipupo Yinka -Femi were also elected as Public Relation Officer and Treasurer respectively to pilot the affairs of the Association towards better repositioning and resuscitating the Association.
In a warm acceptance speech, Chief M.A. Osaloni who was surprised by his nomination and election accepted the responsibility, he appealed to members for cooperation to resuscitate the Association back to his noble position.
Osaloni equally promised to foster friendliness, unity and cooperation among members of the Association.
He said Hotel Owners are major stakeholders in the economy of the Ekiti State and are important players in the development of toursim and hospitality services in the State.
Members present at the State meeting were optimistic and full of assurances that the newly elected officers would perform brilliantly well, considering their pedigree, societal influence and professional proficiency, even as they are experienced people in the leadership circuit both at the community and business domain.
Their appointment, however, takes effects immediately
In a remark by the newly elected State Secretary, in person of Pastor (Hon) Akin Abimbola, he appealed to the State Government to give a conducive atmosphere for hospitality and hotel business to strive in Ekiti by attending to the issue of double taxations on hotel owners.
Conuding, he strsssed the need for numerous members to cooperate by responding to Monthly meetings and their financial contributions towards uplifting the association and to carry out the designated duties and responsibilities bestowed on them.
