OYSIEC Boss, Olagunju, Congratulates Governor Makinde On His Re-election, Lauds Electorates Over Peaceful Conduct

The Chairman, Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, SAN, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on his victory to serve the people of the state for a second term in the just concluded governorship election.


Olagunju also lauded the electorates and residents of the state for their peaceful conduct during the elections, saying that the act is a testimony that citizens were better informed on the need to shun violence while exercising their civic rights.

Olagunju, in a statement issued on Monday and made available to journalists, attributed the victory to the unprecedented achievements of the governor and the quest of the masses to sustain good governance, which His Excellency stands for.


He maintained that the victory was a reflection of true democracy, noting that the election process further affirmed competence and credibility of the electoral empire of the country.

The statement reads: “We congratulate His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for winning the contest. Indeed, it was a deserved victory and proof that our electoral process in the country has improved tremendously.


“Significant fact is that people now have confidence in the electoral empire, believing that their votes count. This is exactly what transpired during the just concluded elections.”
