…says he ‘ll use tourism,solid mineral to expand economy if re-elected
Oyo state governor; ‘Seyi Makinde, has again reaffirmed his unwavering admiration for teachers and the teaching profession by promising to pay the state’s teachers annual leave bonus for 2022 by end of February.
Governor Makinde made this declaration on Wednesday, while meeting with the representatives of the Nigeria Union of Teachers,Itesiwaju Chapter in Otu,said that the welfare of the workers is paramount to his administration.
He maintained that his administration will ensure to capture tourism and solid mineral development,under ‘Omititun 2.0 for the economic expansion agenda of the state.
The governor,while
speaking with the traditional rulers at Itesiwaju Local government hall,Otu,said that he was seeking to re-election so as to consolidate the gains of the past 44 months.
The governor, who met with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at the First Baptist Church and the League of Imams, at the Central Mosque, Otu, urged the religious leaders to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidates in National Assembly, state Assembly and governorship elections. Also, speaking with Traditional worshippers,Isese; ACOMORAN; Okada Union Local government,Hall Otu,,said that his administration has been able to deliver on its 2019 campaign promises, including free and qualitative education, expansion of the state’s economy through quality roads, security of lives and property through the creation of Amotekun and support for the federal security agencies, among others.
The governor, explained that everything his administration has been able to achieve under Omituntun 1.0 will be consolidated under Omituntun 2.0, warned residents not to allow opposition political parties whom he said had nothing to campaign with to deceive them ahead of the coming elections.
In his remarks,the Eleyinpo of Ipapo,Oba Yekeen Ademola, and other representatives of different groups, appreciated Governor for his achievements in the last three and half years, promising to work for the success of his second term bid.
On the entourage of the governor were his deputy, Barr. Abdulroheem Bayo Lawal, wife of governor, Engr. Tamunominini and other top government functionaries.
Others include the wife of the former governor of Oyo State, Mrs. Mutiat Ladoja; chairman of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Senator Hosea Agboola; members of the Advisory Council, Senators Monsura Sunmonu and Gbenga Babalola.
Others were top PDP chieftains, including the Deputy National Chairman (South), Amb. Taofeek Arapaja; Dr. Saka Balogun; Chief Jacob Adetoro; Chief Sunday Ogunlade, among others.
