Lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment and dedication to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Agboworin, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, vehemently denied allegations of anti-party activities levelled against him from some unknown quarters in his constituency, saying he has never done anything under heaven to undermine the integrity of the party.
The lawmaker, despite his tireless efforts and the resources expended in promoting the party’s agenda, was accused of engaging in anti-party activities in the just concluded local government election in the state.
But according to a statement by his Media Group, on Monday, which was made available to journalists in Ibadan, Agboworin dismissed these claims, saying they are baseless, malicious and mischievous.
He explained that rather than make clandestine moves to destroy the party, he would, instead, continue to work towards the progress and betterment of the party which, according to him, made him.
Agboworin, however, urged his supporters and party members to remain united and focused on their shared goals, assuring them that the truth will prevail.
He said: “My dedication to the PDP and its principles remains unshaken. I have always worked towards the betterment of our party and the state and I will continue to do so.
“Nobody needs to be told that the allegations levelled against me on the issue of anti-party is mere political sabotage. The people know that I am hundred per cent loyal to my party, PDP, and the ideals of the current government of my Principal, His Excellency, Governor ‘Seyi Makinde.
“How can they, in their wildest imagination, whip up such unwarranted lies against a federal legislator on a local government election that is believed that the ruling party will always coast home victory?
“Nobody does anti-party in a council election. It is just too childish to try and always want to bring me down at all cost even when I have not done any wrongful act.
“The public must be fully aware that all of these are lies and evil fabrications from the pit of hell, which are capable of demeaning my image ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Despite all these allegations, I want to urge my supporters and party members to remain united and focused on their shared goals. I am very sure that the truth will prevail sooner. They are just looking for different ways to damage my image for no just reason, which I believe is very wrong.
“One thing is very certain; I will continue to fight for the party’s values, the betterment of my people and the state at large.”
