Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and governorship candidate of People’s Democratic Party, who doubles as Director General of the South Senatorial District Campaign Council, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Olusola Eleka, on Monday, admonished the PDP members in Emure, to remain formidable as a party.
He charged the party stakeholders to ensure victory for all the candidates across the six local government areas of the District.
Addressing the large gathering, Eleka stressed on the need for members to strengthen their mobilisation drive, saying the unity of Nigerian people and her coexistence lies on the choice of leaders they elect in the 2023 general elections.
Eleka said: “Our sole responsibility as a party now is to ensure victory for all candidates of our party ranging from our Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Vice Presidential candidate; Dr. Okowa; our Senatorial Candidate, Senator Biodun Olujimi; House of Representative candidates, Engr Henrich Akomolafe; Hon (Mrs) Jennifer Eminola and all State Assembly Candidates.
“This is the only District with over 350,000 votes and the south is predominantly a PDP stronghold. Our political history is evident to this, he said.
Eleka encouraged the newly inaugurated committee members to use the opportunity to render their best for the party as the privilege should be considered a call to serve.
Members of the committee include former lawmaker, Wale Ayeni as Deputy Director 1 (Federal Constituency I) and former commissioner for Education, Bade Adara as Deputy Director 2 (Federal Constituency II) respectively.
Other members are the Senatorial Chairman; Chief Tijani as Chairman Elders Advisory Council and PDP Women Leader; Chief Mrs Folasade Akinrinmola as Head of the Directorate for Women Affairs.
PDP Southwest Publicity Secretary, Chief Sanya Atofarati, was also announced as Director of Media and communications, while Adeola Adebisi and ‘Jide Ojaomo made the list as Deputy Directors respectively, among other directorates.
